Thelma’s Sanctuary provides a suite of wraparound services designed to stabilize and support families on their journey to independence. This structure ensures that children and teens not only maintain their academic performance but also have the opportunity to heal and develop in a stable, nurturing setting.
- Temporary Housing: Safe, clean, and confidential accommodation for women and their children.
- Individual and Group Counseling: Trauma-informed counseling for women, children, and families led by licensed professionals.
- Advocacy and Referrals: Assistance navigating legal, medical, and social service systems, as well as referrals to long-term community partners for ongoing support.
- Childcare Services: On-site supervision for younger children while mothers attend workshops, appointments, or job interviews.
- Access to Basic Needs: Provision of food, clothing, and essential personal care items upon arrival.
- After-School Safe Space Program is critical for ensuring the children in our care have a structured, safe, and engaging environment during non-school hours. It focuses on academics, social-emotional learning, and fun, creative activities.
